About Insurpedia

What this is

Insurpedia is an independent educational resource about insurance, organized around the real-life events that make people need to think about it (getting married, buying a home, becoming a landlord) instead of around insurance products or jargon.

We don’t sell insurance, we’re not an insurance agency, and we don’t recommend specific insurers. When a lesson mentions a company by name, it’s to cite a publicly available rate or discount figure for comparison, not an endorsement.

How lessons are written

Each lesson is researched against publicly available consumer-facing sources (insurer guidance pages, consumer-finance publications, and state insurance-department data) and cross-referenced across multiple sources before publishing. Sourcing notes are included at the bottom of every lesson.

Insurpedia’s lessons are not currently written or reviewed by a licensed insurance agent or broker. This is stated here plainly because it matters: insurance is regulated at the state level, actual coverage depends on the specific wording of your policy, and this site is meant to help you ask better questions and understand your options, not to replace advice from a licensed professional in your state.

Corrections

If something in a lesson is inaccurate or out of date, we want to know. Insurance rules and rates change, and educational content about them has to keep up. Reach us at hello@insurpedia.org.
